Foreclosure help and mortgage assistance in Minnesota

This program was created through a partnership with various community-based nonprofit organizations that are located throughout Minnesota. The Foreclosure Prevention Assistance Program will assist homeowners who are facing the foreclosure process due to a temporary, short term financial emergency that is out of their control, and that will end sometime in the future. FPAP will provide assistance in the form of case management services and they may even provide a short term cash grant or other financial assistance to help with a mortgage payment or other debts.
Don't Borrow Trouble The state of Minnesota also created the Don’t Borrow Trouble Minnesota Campaign. This is a public education initiative that was created to educate consumers and to stop predatory lending practices throughout Minnesota, and in particular in the Twin Cities seven-county metropolitan area. The Don’t Borrow Trouble Campaign seeks to educate families and individuals about how to recognize and avoid predatory lending scams and it also provides information about available community resources that can provide mortgage and foreclosure help.
