Find mortgage help in Indiana and foreclosure assistance

Indiana has been hit hard by the slowing economy and resulting home foreclosures. So the state government has taking actions to provide mortgage help. In an attempt slow down, and ideally prevent foreclosures in Indiana, the state government, led by Lt. Governor Becky Skillman has created a new, major statewide assistance program to assist residents who are behind on their payments and/or may be in danger of losing their homes to the foreclosure process.

Any Indiana residents who may be facing a home foreclosure, whether it is an immediate issue or even if it is a possibility in the not so distant future, these families should call a toll-free number, 877-GET-HOPE.

It is a confidential, toll-free mortgage assistance line that is available from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm during the work week, at there is no cost to the consumer to call it. The number and advice is free. . Services that a homeowner can expect to receive and that are provided by the state include assistance in contacting and even possibly negotiating with banks and lenders, a detailed, written financial plan, budgeting help, counseling, and more. Also, whenever possible, well qualified mortgage counselors will assist homeowners over the phone with their housing needs. If more extensive aid or assistance is needed by the homeowner, the mortgage counselor will refer the homeowner to a full time, dedicated certified foreclosure intervention specialist or they will refer them to other companies and agencies that can provide mortgage assistance.
